How long after surgery did you feel comfortable riding a bike? I mean regular one - not at the gym.

I got mine about a month and a half two months post op. I could of rode one prior. I just didn't have one. I would day ask you doctor, but as soon as you are cleared to go to the gym, I would say you should be able to ride.

Four weeks minimally is what I'd expect. Certainly after 6 you can ride. You just need to not strain your tummy muscles right after surgery. Biking can do that. It might take a little doing, but going up hill, etc would do it.
