Mrs_O 118 Posted January 16, 2016 Start pre op liquid diet on Wednesday the 20th and I told Hubby that this weekend don't even bother picking a place to eat or a meal for me to cook at home as we will be having all my favorites! ???????????? no big binges or anything just gotta make sure I get pizza one last time etc because hopefully those bad choices will be gone soon!!! Anyone else find satisfaction in one last hurrah with food? I can't wait to eat a burrito from Moe's! Hopefully I'm not the only one.
staceylynne13 7 Posted January 16, 2016 i personally did not. i had changed so much already that i just decided to keep going. besides, if i had all my favorites, i'd have been in real trouble LOL!
Mrs_O 118 Posted January 16, 2016 I have definitely noticed that when I eat I'm not eating nearly as much as I once was. Am I am starting to notice that times I think man I need a snack that I really am not hungry at all. If I have to eat a couple more meals before starting liquids, I figure it may as well be my favs
FrankyG 1,450 Posted January 16, 2016 Sounds like a food funeral. You will eventually be able to eat anything including all the really bad things... but you should only eat them rarely, and you won't be able to eat nearly as much, and it is highly likely that you won't want really want to eat them after adjusting to healthier eating habits. I have pizza every once in a while, but I can only eat maybe a half of a slice before I am totally stuffed, and I don't like the really greasy loaded versions I used to eat - so I can't remember the last time I had takeout versions. I make way better pizza at home now using whole wheat flour and homemade sauce and load up the veggies and cheese.
LiMurr 24 Posted January 17, 2016 Hubby brought home my favorite pizza the night before I started liquids. That's love.
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted January 17, 2016 I didn't. I wanted to continue the excellent progress I'd made over me 6 month pre-op plan. I didn't want to gain anything just to have to lose it again.
Kindle 8,667 Posted January 17, 2016 I planned on two "last suppers" before I started my preop. The first was a huge Thai dinner and the second was a Mexican feast complete with margaritas. Unfortunately I was working long days and was too tired after work to bother to go out. So I started my preop with no Hoorah. Fortunately, after reaching goal, there's been nothing "off the table" for me so I've had plenty of Thai, Mexican, pizza and all the other stuff I've always loved. Haven't had to say goodbye to anything except beer (can't do carbonation)
lwmatch 31 Posted January 17, 2016 I didn't have a tough pre-op, just the day before surgery. My last 'bad' meal, 1/2 pound cheeseburger at Fuddruckers with fries and onion rings. Sigh ,,,,lol
Mrs_O 118 Posted January 17, 2016 Love hearing everyone else experiences! If I had been on the 6 month or more pre op program I prob wouldn't be cheating it but I'm self pay so I don't have the insurance requirements and will just start my pre op liquid on Wednesday. I did notice that I got my regular burrito tonight and couldn't eat it all. Also didn't eat any chips. Weird but great!
jhbeck 29 Posted January 17, 2016 I've been doing it the last few days. I start my pre op diet on Thursday. But I don't think I changed a whole lot with my 6 month physician monitored whatever. Just like always I had a week or 2 of eating well then a week or 3 of crap, rinse, repeat. So I don't have some amazing change to maintain. Just life. And I'm indulging a bit because life is about to change. Jess, mom to Ysabel, 6 and Maggie,
Fat2Phat2016 541 Posted January 17, 2016 I didn't either. My only cheating was on the plane ride to Tijuana. I had some sugary Apple juice and some peanuts. I was too scared it would keep me from having surgery or they would have to cut me more instead of doing it laparoscopic.
