I'm struggling. Ten months out and I've only lost 10 lbs. In the spirit of full disclosure, I do not exercise.

I haven't had any restriction since the swelling went down after surgery. And, I can eat huge amounts of food compared to what I see others posting ... I'm talking 1/2 a bagel or 6 oz of chicken breast.

My surgeon feels part of the problem is that two months ago my GYN put me on hormones for cycle issues. Or, he said I've stretched my sleeve. Not sure how I could have stretched it when I don't over stuff and I don't drink anything carbonated or while eating.

Well, due to my insurance changing, I have to get a new doctor. In my interview, I found out that due to my having the lapband first, the sleeve may have been left too big.

Now I'm going to have to go for some testing...not sure just what yet. And, possible revision surgery.

Anyone else heard of this?

Have you thought about getting a bypass? I noticed that you said you could eat half a bagel. The problem is that bread is one of the no-no carb items we aren't supposed to be eating. How have you been in sticking to Protein? Do you think you are eating too many carbs?

I'm 8 months out and have lost 148 lbs. I drink a Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch and then eat a lean meal for dinner. I avoid carbs, no bread, no potato, no Cereal, no fruits, mostly. I do eat carbs every now and then but nothing on a consistent basis.

Exercise is a must. You have got to exercise.

So, what do you mean the sleeve is to big? Is it that you dont think the Dr. did not take enough out/off ?

Typically I don't eat breads or Cereal. The bagel was a one-time deal after a bout of stomach flu, but I do eat fruit.

I'll have to track my Protein. I do shakes for Breakfast and sometimes for lunch depending on work. And, maybe do a shake on the nights I have lunch meetings.

I was just curious if anyone had heard of a sleeve being too big.

Scottyd1264 ... I was sleeved by Dr. Nusbaum in Morristown. He is great and his staff is extremely helpful.

Yes, I used to see Dr. Nusbaum I had the lapband and switched over to Dr Nusbaum. when i had the sleeve done by a different Dr. I asked to make the stomach bigger, the Dr. did it and i dont feel any restriction... I think it was a mistake...

What was your post about.... why do you think yours is to big?

The new doc is just guessing right now. I have to have a few tests run to make sure what's going on.

But why do you think that, you can get the operation report and it will tell you the size of your new stomach

You mentioned that you'll have to track your Protein. Don't you track your food? How do you know whether or not you are hitting your Protein target? Do you get at least 64 oz of Fluid a day?

Frankly, I am surprised that if you have only lost 10 pounds over the last 10 months you haven't been working with your NUT before now.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
