kdelrosso 124 Posted January 14, 2016 Is anyone any ALWAYS thirsty. I get my 65oz in a day. I use a cup that is at least 24oz and I fill it up multiple times during the day with Water but still I am always thirsty. Anyone else have this problem ??
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted January 14, 2016 So...drink more? Are you getting enough electrolytes? Consuming too much caffeine or salt? When I am terribly thirsty, I Water down a 24 oz Gatorade 50/50 and that seems to resolve my issue.
kdelrosso 124 Posted January 14, 2016 I don't drink anything with caffeine . At least not yet haven't. I may drink some ice tea down the road but I'm only a little less than a month out. I just don't know how I can get any more liquid in my system with all of the Water I drink and then my food. I do use some salt so I guess that could be it. I'll try the Gatorade tho thanks! Miss Mac 6,262 Posted January 14, 2016 I can now drink 100-120 ounces of Water a day. I just sip, sip, sip, every few minutes even at two years out.

You may be washing all the sodium out of your system. Gatorade really may be your answer. Works for me.
BigViffer 3,544 Posted January 14, 2016 How strange, I have the exact opposite problem. I am coming up on my 1 year mark and I still struggle with hitting my Water goal. I am just not thirsty like I used to be. Hell, I used to drink 64 oz before lunch.
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted January 14, 2016 Low sodium is a real thing. I had a precipitous drop in my blood pressure post-sleeve due to not getting enough sodium. It got to the point where my doctor's patient plan for me literally said "liberally increase intake of salt". It was hard for me to figure out ways of getting more sodium. I G2 or Powerade Zero might help you.
BigViffer 3,544 Posted January 14, 2016 @@JamieLogical I found it humorous that after hearing avoid salt for 25 years my surgeon told me to start hitting the salt! But I don't like the taste of salty food anymore! Oh, I almost forgot... now that I no longer drink diet soda, my sodium intake is next to nothing. Well, comparatively speaking. edotco12 3 Posted January 15, 2016 I feel the same way...I think. I just never feel like my thirst has been quenched. The sip sip sipping drives me nuts. I wanna big gulp!
jboys83 17 Posted January 15, 2016 I'm 9days post-op and my mouth gets so dry and no matter how much I drink I need more. May be I'll try the g-2!
Deeva84 1 Posted January 16, 2016 I'm in the same boat. No caffeine products. I drink Water, grape juice, fair life milk, and my Protein drinks. I feel like nothing quenches my thirst. I'll try adding Gatorade to my liquids to see if that helps.
