please share the microwave in a cup protein recipe

Recommended Posts

Doesn't microwaving the Protein and heating it kill the Protein? Like most high quality Proteins are processed at low heat to keep the protein integrity.

no the whey protein isolate and cassein etc is not live and microwaving it does nothing to the protein , it just activates the steam in the liquid you use and the baking powder which provides the rise and texture along with the egg albumen.

I know they aren't live but microwaves aren't know for maintaining the integrity of food.< /p>

I was just searching last night for recipes on Protein cakes in a cup. I've never tried it, but my curiosity has peaked. I ordered Protein Powder last night (I never thought I would do that again).

Anyway, I saw on pintrest where someone mixed 1TBS PB2 with 2 TBS plain Greek yogurt. She added that on top of the cake as her "frosting". Just another suggestion.

Um...so you guys like this? LOL, I just tried it, and what I made didn't turn out like cake. It reminded me of blow insulation - you know that stuff they blow into small spaces in houses to insulate? Anyway, I have to say, it didn't taste too bad. Also, I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds, and the microwave stopped part way through, with a message that "food is done". I think some pumpkin, or a banana might make it less dry. Anyway, I do think this is worth experimenting with, so I'm interesting in reading what everyone does to perfect it. Lots of good ideas so far.

Funny...this is the sort of thing that contributed to my morbid obesity. I love to cook, and would try something, and keep working on it, to perfect it. I would have to eat all the tests, of course. And I'm impatient, so my natural inclination is to go try another, right now. I'm not going to do it.....but old demons are still hanging around :( I never change, no matter how hard I try. The fact that I WANT to do it is alarming to me. I guess that fact that I'm not is progress.

@@Stevehud, do you have the nutrition count on your recipe?

I guess like Protein shakes it's all a matter of taste/preference. I love these but can't stand Premier Protein which tons of you love!

Tried this variation tonight--

Choc matrix

Baking powder

1/3 banana

Fairlife milk

0% plain fage on top

Yum!

Thanks for making the video, it really helped to see how thick the batter should be. I haven't tried one yet as I don't have the matrix Protein. I think we do have some kind of chocolate Protein my room mate got at Walmart. Will have to try that. I do have the powder Peanut Butter. I found that yesterday and haven't had that yet either. Am hoping those 2 would be a good combo.

@@Stevehud Thank you so much for the video!! That helps so much more than reading the recipe. I'm very visual so this is exactly what I needed.
