amandasue 27 Posted January 30, 2016 I'm in bariatric hell. Stuck at my parents taking care of me because I have a toddler and infant at home my husband is caring for. Can't work. Having to liquidate assets for care I was self pay). Parents are starting to resent me being here and having to play caregiver. I would never do this again....I want my life and babies back! 4 more weeks to go....
2goldengirl 2,076 Posted January 30, 2016 @@amandasue, I'm so sorry this happened to you. You're feeling down and who can blame you? You miss your babies and your husband and feeling well. You feel guility because you made this decision that is now inconveniencing everyone around you and costing more than you'd bargained for. Just remember, you had surgery so you can be healthy long-term for your children and your husband. And you will be. You will heal, and you will get on with your life. And your life will be much, much healthier because of all this.
Amelie2016 116 Posted January 30, 2016 I am so so sorry for all that you are dealing with. And I know it can make you feel extremely lonely because no one has control of this except you, God and the Dr.s Your surgery date says December 2015, one year go. Is that correct? You began this complication one year later? Did staple or suture open up, or perhaps in that entire year was never closed properly? Did they do leak tests any time after the one time you had surgery? Like, a few months out? Did you have a Lap Band before or was this any kind of revision? When you have the energy I'd love to know, that way it helps all of us understand more if we know more, you might find someone who went through the exact thing. Years ago my ex had an RNY and for two years the poor man was in and out of the hospital. Nothing he did. He just had blood clotting issues, and it was a risk for him going in. Bluesky1035 1 Posted January 31, 2016 I am so sorry for all you have endured! I pray for a full recovery and long and healthy life. At this time I am feeling very fortunate after reading your story. The doctor I went to turned me down for a sleeve, I was so disappointed. I will be getting the balloon in February, this is all he said he could do for me. I am self pay and he said I am high financial risk and could be out hundreds of thousands of dollars if things went bad. I am high risk also because of previous open abdominal surgery, for too much scar tissue. Although I was very sad, I appreciated his honesty and not just going ahead for the money. I could go to someone else and try, but he is a reputable doctor and I am taking his warning and advise and will just do the balloon.
