We’re approaching post number…4 million!

Recommended Posts

I wonder how many of the 4 million have to do with stalls?

My motto is you can't win if you don't enter.

The best thing I have ever won was a trip to Hawaii. As I lose weight I am feeling more optimistic about entering sweepstakes for trips. I am itching to travel!

This made me lol. Soooo many stall posts recently!

You won a trip to Hawaii??? I've won a pack of Oreos, two movie tickets, an Alanis Morrisette CD (not Jagged Little Pill), and a laptop bag (I didn't even have a laptop at the time).

Yes, I won a trip to Hawaii and it was awesome!

My major goal/reward for my weight loss is to go back to Hawaii and take surfing lessons. If I could win a free trip it would be even better!

I just want to thank Alex and the BariatricPal team for all they have done over the years. This site is truly a blessing to me and countless others.

This site helps keep me focused and motivated, but more importantly has helped keep me alive!!! 2 months ago I couldn't walk to the mailbox without severe back and knee pain as well as becoming quite winded. But now, only 2 months later, I am able to walk up to 9.5 miles per day.

Alex and BariatricPal, you are truly a Godsend. Thanks for everything!!!

I chose not to continue care with my surgeon due to personal differences and continued after care with my PCP. Although my PCP has been great with follow up blood work and so forth, she obviously is no expert on WLS.

I attribute all of my success to this site. Not only have I learned so much over the last couple of years, I have made some amazing and inspirational friends along the way. I can't say thank you enough, Alex, for this wonderful place of knowledge and support.

I once won $10,000 worth of furniture! I would have rather gone to Hawaii :P

Did you have to pay taxes on your prize?? We did :(

Wow 4 million, that really is amazing! Having BariatricPal as a support on this journey and being able to converse with others in the same boat, or on the same road I should say is an invaluable experience. I would not trade it.

And it has a tendency to be addictive as well.

I would LOVE to win furniture, especially if I could pick it out.

I am going to need a new bed/mattress set soon so that would be an awesome prize. If anyone knows of a drawing for one let me know.

Some other biggish prizes I've won are: a rug, a tv, and basketball tickets.

I won a box of toys one time that supplied me with birthday and Christmas presents for quite a while.

I did win plane tickets but by the time I got them the window to use them was so narrow I never was able to plan a trip. I still had to pay taxes on those which was a bummer.

I am pretty selective about what enter to win lately to make sure it's something I really want or could use.

The furniture was from a model home, so it was pretty nice and actually my style :) Then a year or so later we were in Jackpot, Nevada and I hit a $4,000 jackpot on a slot machine.

I thought I was pretty lucky, but you take the cake!

The one and only time I played slot machines I played until I lost my $20 and then quit. I only place $2 bets at the horse races. Something tells me that gambling isn't for me. I'll stick to sweepstakes!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
