What's the longest period of time you were "stalled" ?

Recommended Posts

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process. Does it really matter how long it last of you are doing what you are supposed to be doing?

I think those who treat stalls as separate and apart from their progress rather than an integral part of it experience much too much anxiety.

Embrace the Stall!

Kind of hard to embrace the stall when it's been about 3 weeks and I'm only 5 weeks post op.

That's pretty normal. Almost everyone experiences a stall a few weeks post-op. I HIGHLY recommend just staying off the scale and only weighing about once a week. Focus on the things you CAN control, like your Protein and Water intake and your activity level. The scale is gonna do its own thing and it's best to just ignore it as much as possible. You aren't going to be the ONE scientific anomaly that does everything right and doesn't lose a pound after 2 weeks post-op. :P

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
