Sarahlynn85 2 Posted January 12, 2016 I am 30 years old and am 8 months post bypass. I am in a relationship and we have been talking about having a baby in a year. Has anyone had a baby since their surgery? Any advice? 1 AApodaca reacted to this
carinamenina 0 Posted February 29, 2016 Hello! I just joined BariatricPal and saw your post. I got pregnant at 13 months post-RNY. While my husband and I had planned to have another baby, we were planning to wait until 18-24 months after my surgery, to make sure my weight had stabilized. Even though it happened sooner than planned, I had a successful pregnancy. My appetite nearly tripled (which was hard to handle emotionally but hey, I needed to feed the baby!) and I just had a couple more ultrasounds than usual. I gained about 35 pounds total, and the entire pregnancy was successful. My son is now 3 and is very happy and healthy. My advice would be to wait until your weight has stabilized, or at least until you're no longer losing rapid amounts of weight. And good luck
AApodaca 0 Posted May 2, 2017 I love reading this! I've been unable to conceive and we're looking into adoption, but in my heart I'm hoping that weight-loss can help. That's not why I want the surgery. I'm having pain in my joints and having problems with my sugar. However, this gives me a glimmer of hope. I'm 36, but hoping maybe there is a miracle left before I hit 40. I'm just on the beginning of this journey though, so we'll see...
