Love my Fitbit charge HR...but it causes rashes!

Recommended Posts

I absolutely love seeing my progress and activity on my FitBit Charge HR, but it causes red rashes on my wrist. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm so torn, I love this device but I don't like having marks on my wrists. Has anyone found a solution for this? Thanks

I also had that issue. I found a cover for the charge hr on the website etsy. I typed Fitbit charge hr extender or cover(at the time I needed an extender, but not anymore????) and I ordered one. They come in a ton of different fabric selections and have all of the holes for heart rate and display. It really helped because the fabric I chose was kind of silky and I haven't had any issues since. I believe it was like $14(don't quote me). But yes, Etsy. Check it out...

This may sound weird, but I clean my band about once a week with Water and an old toothbrush. It works really well to get all the gook out of all those nooks and crannies!

Hm, I didn't even swear. I guess it just doesn't know that word. All the gross stuff.

I am allergic to Latex and have broken out in a rash. I just take it off at night or losses it and move it up my wrist and put some Neosporin on the rash it goes away. I don't know if that could be the cause or not. But it has helped me stay on track so I just deal with it.

I actually discovered that I may have been wearing mine a little too tight. Since I originally posted this, I began wearing it looser and now I no longer have the issue with irritation. I believe I'm also allergic to these type of materials so I make sure I have air. And I plan to get one of those covers, that was an awesome suggestion as well!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
