I ended up being fast tracked for surgery, and had it at 4 months, instead of 6 :)

How long after your last Nut appointment before you were able to get your test results appointment, and how long after that before you were able to have surgery? I have completed everything except one last Nut appointment and that will be next week, I'm hoping for surgery before December.

I called the surgery center the day I completed my appointments, and they got me into their schedule ASAP, which was two weeks out at that time. I don't know what you mean by test results appointment.

I am completely overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done. I will be having my surgery at UW. I would really love for these requirements to be done quickly. One question though did you go just anywhere for your 12 nut appointments

Your doctor will refer you to a mental health clinic.. and everything else bc they all have auth. numbers necessary to be seen. (Medical necessity ).

Remember that when the Molina Bariatric nurse starts callin for monthly phone check ins, to be honest, but also positive, proactive, and realistic in expectations. They like that kinda thing.

Bethany, do you know if small weight fluctuations are counted against you?

Test results or peer appointment, the appointment after you get all of your requirements done and decide if surgery is right for you.

No, they dont. As long as you meet your 5% goal (5% of weight that was logged in approval, then you will be fine. You have to go to your doctors office to be weighed.

Get the EARLIEST appointments for weight checks. Go number 1 (and number 2 if you can) BEFORE weighing. Wear the LIGHTEST and LEAST amount of clothing. Always take off your shoes.

Minor weight fluctuations are normal, especially because of Water, stress, and even exercise.

Making all of your requirements, including your tests and 5% will trigger your Stage 3, which will get you a surgery date roughly two to 4 weeks out, depending on how much you weigh, and scheduling. During that time, you will be put on a 2 to 4 week liquid Protein diet.

I asked my PCP if she would prescribe me Phentermine during that time, and she thought that was a reasonable request, to keep me from being too miserable on it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
