I I am 13 mths out of surgery. I've lost only 41 lbs thus far and been stuck here. I can not lie I haven't been watching what I eat so much and I'm trying to get back on track now. My starting weight was 241 and I'm at 199...shouldn't I have lost more?

The sleeve is just a tool so you still have to eat Protein first, drink Water, and exercise. If you haven 't been doing those things then your not going to lose as much.

That doesn't mean it's to late though. Go back to the basics and you will see the scale move again.

The good news is, your sleeve is still there. So if you make good choices moving forward, you can still use this wonderful tool to lose more weight. Go back to the basics. Put Protein first. Make sure you are getting a good 80-100 grams of protein per day. Make sure you are taking all of your Vitamins. Make sure you are drinking all of your Water. Make sure you AREN'T drinking your calories or eating and drinking at the same time. And increase your activity level.

i hear ya on this. i realized the hard way that after the first 20lbs i was gonna have to "eat right" and exercise just like anyone else. -_- the only thing the sleeve helps with is not allowing me to stuff my face like i used to. otherwise you gotta work for it. you can do it!

IMHO, yes, you should have lost more.

Boils down to this: Are you willing to do what you need to do to lose all your excess weight and then to keep it off?

Why not make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your goals and strategies for reaching them. In the meantime go back to basics.

I would also suggest you find out when the next support group meeting is and plan to attend.

You can lose more weight and there is nothing wrong with using all the tools and resources that are available to you.

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
