You need to see your nutritionist. Which phase are you in? Are you writing your food down in a journal? If so, things that produce gas - milk, whey, Beans, etc may need to go for a bit. Also Gas-X chewables and Lactaid chewables help me.

I am almost 4 months post op if that's what you mean by phase. I haven't kept a journal but bought one today. This is ex: of what I eat. Breakfast 2 eggs, 1 piece of toast with about 1/2 tsp.butter. snack is watermelon, grapes or apple(small). lunch chicken with salad and balsamic dressing, the same for dinner. Only dairy I sometimes have a latte or approved Protein shake by doctor.

It appears you have been very successful! Unfortunately my doctor and nutritionist are in my town once per month and not very to communicate with. The emails they have given me come back as bad email. :(

eggs will have that effect on me. That is why natural gas is scented like rotten eggs, otherwise you would never smell a gas leak.

Febreeze the hell outa the bathroom afterwards and get on about your bidness.

Don't sweat the small stuff...................and most of it is truly small stuff.

You've lost 73 pounds in the past few months....and are rocking a 30 BMI.

Tell the whole world to kiss your butt.

I would move to egg whites and try eggs again later. I know people sometimes have problems with eggs.

Also, try using myfitnesspal or lose it to keep track of your food.

I didn't read the 4 months out part (sorry, sometimes I can't read LOL). But at 4 months, you're still pretty new so I would take it easy on certain foods. Take it easy. I'm a year out, and I'm finding I can eat more, but I still stick with Lactaid if I do any milk. I still stay away from Brussels sprouts, black Beans, etc. But I keep Beano pills handy just in case as well.

Hopefully this will help with certain foods to avoid.

Also Dub is right. Keep the Febreeze handy. I also use PooPouri (spelling). Groupon has a deal on it right now. I've actually gotten my family on it too. Lol

When individuals undergo weight loss, they may undergo ketosis. When you first reach ketosis, the body doesn't really know how to regulate the fats it breaks down. As a result, it makes a lot of waste ketones, which are then released in breath and urine. As time passes, it will become more tuned and the extra ketones will reduce. Until then, make sure to drink plenty of Water to help flush out the waste.

After Weight Loss Surgery, your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight. But in the process your fat cells are breaking down and being expelled from your body through sweat, urine, stool, and breath. After you transition from weight loss phase into the maintenance phase, this problem should be less noticeable.

Sounds like lactose intolerance. Undigested dairy products create a distinct very foul odor. Try taking a lactate tablet before eating dairy products or switch to lactaid milk.

Most of the replies are from peeps like me, who did NOT have DS. My understanding this is an issue with DS related to what you are eating. Talk to your NUT, veteran DSers to get ideas. If you don't know any veteran DS patients, message me because I do.

Poo pourri really helps mask odor from #2 but doesn't address gas. Still suggest it!

I'm with the others on PooPouri - I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's actually a really good product. Also, the foul smell seems to be an unfortunate side effect no matter what I do or do not eat, so I just work on damage control, since I haven't found an adequate prevention method.

My doctor told me that this would likely happen before I had surgery. I haven't had much gas, but when I do, Gas-X chewables help a lot.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.
