Sleeve Surgery December 30

Recommended Posts

I had sleeve surgery on December 30. I lost 10lbs in a week but starting this week I have gained 4 pounds. I have been doing everything the doctor told me to, so is this normal?

GOOD MORNING!

I AM SO GLAD TO KNOW THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL OUT THERE WHO HAVE HAD SURGERY THE SAME DAY AS I HAD. MY SURGERY WAS ON 12*30*15 AND I HAVE LOST JUST ABOUT 10LBS(9LBS) YESTERDAY.

I AM NOT SURE AS TO WHY YOU HAVE GAINED WEIGHT. WHAT ARE YOU EATING? BECUZ I KNOW I CAN BARELY EAT. AND I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD SO MUCH STOMACH AT THE TIME OF MY SURGERY, HE HAD TO REMOVE IT. SO NOW MY STOMACH IS THE SIZE OF A MEDICINE CUP. I RARELY EAT. AND WHEN I DO ITS sugar free Jello, sugar free POP SICLES, AND broth. H2O IS ALSO A GREAT FACOR. I STILL DONT AND NOT ABLE TO CONSUME 64OZ YET BECUZ EVEN IF I SIP SLOWLY, I AM FULL AFTER ABOUT 3SIPS. IF I TRY TO TAKE MORE LIKE THE OTHER DAY I START TO HAVE PAIN AND THEN I START EITH THE WATERY MOUTH AND GRADUALLY SOME OF THE H2O WILL COME UP.

NOW THAT I AM INTO MY 2WK, I AM ON MY Multivitamin, WHICH I COULD NOT SWALLOW YESTERDAY THAT I HAD TO GO OUT AND GET THE CHILDREN FLINTSTONE Multivitamins THAT ARE chewable IN ORDER TO GET THEM DOWN. SO FAR SO GOOD. BUT I AM STILL NOT HUNGRY.. AT TIME I GET A LIL THIRSTY, BUT VERYYYYYY LITTLE. I STARTED BACK AT THE GYM THIS MORNING ON THE TREDMILL FOR 30MIN. AND I SURVIVED. I FELT A LIL PULLING SO I SLOWED IT DOWN. BUT IT FELT SO GOOD TO BE ABLE TO START BACK WHERE IS WAS. NO ONE WANTED ME TO GET BACK IN THE GYM BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID THAT I MIGHT INJURED MY SELF, BUT I SAID HEY I GO TO WORK SINCE MY SURGERY FOR A HALF DAYS, I DRIVE MY KIDS TO AND FROM SCHOOL AND I RUN ERRANDS. SO IF I CAN DO ALL OF THOSE THINGS WITH LITTLE TO NO PAIN, I CAN DO WHAT I NEED TOO. I WISH YOU THE BEST AND HOPE THAT U FIND OUT AS TO WHY YOU HAVE GAINED 4LBS, AND HOPE THAT FROM THAT POINT ON YOU WILL BE ON YOUR JOURNEY TO A GET SUCCESS AND NEW START.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
