GibbsGirl 483 Posted January 9, 2016 Tomorrow I am eating at a restaurant with the whole family. It's after my nephews honor concert and we usually stop at a steak place or a buffet place. I have scoped out both menus for good options. I am still on soft foods till January 20th. Here's to making a good choice that will work and not cause problems. maxcimax 220 Posted January 9, 2016 You are already looking at your options & that is a good thing. Knowing ahead of time what you will order will make eating out much easier. I would stay away from buffets. Good luck with your dinner.< /p>
Sophie74656 1,572 Posted January 9, 2016 I always check the menu before I go somewhere too. If you're still on soft foods most places usually have Soup or chili that should be fine. Also for me if someone asks why I'm not eating more if they don't know I had the surgery I always say that I had an upset tummy earlier and just want something small to eat. JCP 619 Posted January 12, 2016 Best thing about eating out: one meal lasts me a week now!
Remmy75 32 Posted January 12, 2016 As others have said, check the menu ahead of time. That takes a lot of stress out of the process. My wife usually picks cause I just don't care anymore and she always looks for places that have small plates. So you can get a small plate for like 4 or 5 bucks and that's plenty for dinner. My wife found a Japanese fusion tapas place that does small plates and we got like 4 small plates and I took a bite from each plate and was happy that i got to try different stuff and was plenty satisfied. We also discovered that our favorite Mexican restaurant put small plates on their menu and I can get like a taco with small rice and Beans for like $6. Instead of the $20 that I use to spend on an entree. And it still takes me 2 meals to finish my order. Even my wife has started getting the small plates. So our check went from like $60 with food and drinks to like $25 when we go out with our daughter.
