My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

Recommended Posts

And PS - when I finally get this surgery, PLEASE FOR Goodness sake, Do NOT bring me the big tub of removed skin for me to look at while I am holding a vomit bag in my hand! Blech!

I am at my 3 week check up in the waiting room and just laughed out loud at a volume so high the receptionist dropped her file.

I am resurrecting this thread. I am watching "where are they now" episodes and they are following some people in their 3rd year and beyond. It is REALLY inspiring! I still don't love Dr. Now, but it's cool watching these folks who have struggled but are still fighting the fight with much success!

Daveo, Daveo, Dear Daveo,

"She" is just waiting for you to come for her.

She's only a whisper away.

You'll find her. I know it.

I promise.

Yep I felt the same way! Been divorced for over 10 years. Never thought it would take me this long to find love again.

I saw this episode. It won't be 'happily ever after'. They are both hoping for love but not in love with each other. I can tell...I did the same thing years ago when I wanted to be married again after my first husband died. I married a man that I was fond of and ignored all the warning signs that we really were not compatible. The marriage lasted less than five years.

Take it from someone who knows. Better to be alone than be lonely in a relationship or marriage. That's worse.

not everyone is the same, they could last a long time. you don't know that. just because yours didn't doesn't mean theirs will not last. I do kinda get that maybe this is his first relationship and they may be rushing into things but only they know if it will last or not.

Engaged on your second date? WOW! How long were these dates that you were able to tell in 2 dates that you were compatible? Did you spend months day after day chatting online? Did you truly love each other when you got engaged? I am curious as I have been online dating for the last 10 years. Online chatting is great and there seems to be a lot of compatibility and then we meet and it turns out to be a terrible date. However I will often go on a second or third date just to be fair as many times the nerves have kicked in during that first date. Am still searching. Two things I will never give up on : losing weight and finding love.

By the way Congratulations on 20 years. When did you marry? My marriage was May 20th and lasted 9 years. I hope you two have planned a wonderful romantic anniversary.

Yes, we had talked a long time online -- had exchanged at least 60 really intense emails. To be very clear, we were writing buddies, not online sex buddies. I will admit our first date was 4 days long. And yes, he really did propose -- with a ring -- on our second date.

The truth is we were just wildly, amazingly lucky. And that's the part I hope people won't discount: Sometimes we human Beans just get wildly, amazingly lucky!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
