Anyone know about this ?

I had my first fill 6 weeks post op it was 3 ccs in a 10 band. I do get plugged up quite often, even with chewing good , with a variety of foods not in one certian category. Does this mean that I am full enough with fill solution ? I dont feel alot of restriction but I am confused if this means I should not get another fill or is it possible to still " need " a fill even though i get blocked sometimes ? I posted this before but didnt get much response and I am confused. I have another fill appointment in Aug. Does this mean I will get blocked even more if I get another fill ?

Thanks so much Kim

sometimes it takes a few weeks for a fill to adjust. if you are getting blocked up, i dont think i would get another fill right now, or you may start throwing everything up. everyone fills differently, even in a 10 band, you may only need 2-3 cc's. when you go for your next fill appt have a good conversation with the doc, let them assess the situation, you may not need another fill for awhile. hope this helps.

Kim, if you are getting plugged up as much as I think you are you probably do not need another fill. If however, you are not losing 1-2 lbs per week and can eat more than 1/4 cup of food you may need a fill. It just depends on how much it bugs you to get plugged up. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
