Kristin7676 32 Posted January 7, 2016 great idea. I am 9 days out and I am constantly watching food network. I thought I was weird. My Dad had throat cancer and for a year couldn't eat anything. He did the same thing. I used to ask him all the time, Why, isn't that torture? He loved it. And now I get it. I cant eat much and even watching it doesn't make me want to eat, but it is oddly comforting. At least most of the new shows are showing lighter fare for the new year so I have gotten some ideas for when I can start eating food again.

4MRB4PHOTO 3,900 Posted January 7, 2016 (edited) How about takes on their real shows: "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" Can become "Post WLS First Time Eating Solid Foods Throwup & Sliming With Bobby Flay" "Cupcake Wars" Can become "Protein shake Wars" "Guy's Big Bite" Can become "Guy's Little Bites Chewed 20-25 Times" "30 Minute Meals" Can stay as "30 Minute Meals", since we need to make our meals last at least 20 minutes "Worst Cooks In America" Should be taken off the air. There is no contest, my wife is the all-time reigning world champion. Hmmm (rubs my double chin). Edited January 8, 2016 by 4MRB4PHOTO
Remmy75 32 Posted January 8, 2016 I think food Network is scared to get back into the weight loss themed show. Does anybody remember Juan-Carlos Cruz, the calorie commando? He was charged with trying to have his wife murdered. Maybe they worried that losing all that weight makes us less than stable! By the way I watch food network all the time. I see stuff and think man I would have loved that food but man is that nasty how much food is on the plate. It really gives you perspective on how much food you use to eat versus what you really eat now.
naturegirl 320 Posted January 10, 2016 Waving hand as a food Network junkie (certain shows). Love Unwrapped, but have to be careful about the topic because head hunger is real. Watch baking competitions and those make me crave sweets. Then I remember that I can't cook do we're good, lol. Diners, Drive ins and Dives. Yum. I do think it'd be interesting to have a show that focus on smaller portions. More Proteins, fewer carbs. This is where someone needs to come out with their own YouTube cooking show. If only I were creative and could cook... My show would be pretty boring: -costco meatballs. Pour small amount of marinade. Nuke them and place in single serving containers. -chicken breast, season, cook, eat -steam in bag veggies. A whole bag will last you a week, lol Honestly though, I'd like to see real dishes that one could make while feeding the rest of your family.
