Thanks to you all again! Nice office @@OKCPirate! I will definitely have to work on my space. I got the offer from them today - sort of. They are offering a much higher commission than I can get elsewhere BUT they can't afford the salary I have been making in the first year. My guarantee would be 60-70% of what I have been making, so I would have to make some big adjustments in my budget. What I can't decide is if the other perks are worth the risk. I am starting to lean towards it being and taking the risk. It could pay off huge in the long run (within 5 years), but I am not a typically risky person so it is a big leap of faith. I would have to rely on savings, 401K and credit cards (last resort) to get through this year and possibly next. Just don't want to make a bad decision!

Thank you seriously for all of you talking this out with me!

@@Daisee68 - not a problem. I started on my own in 2004. Everything was fine until I made the mistake of sole sourcing a client and his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after I had closed off everything but his work. Opps. That sucked for him and my family. Now if I don't turn down three tempting offers a month I know I don't have enough in the pipeline. That's my rule. If I don't, then I know I need more marketing.

If you do something you really enjoy, obtain great satisfaction and get paid for it at the same time.

I can't wait to leave the house in the morning, knowing everyday is going to be different, challenging, and rewarding.

I am often asked what will I do when I retire....first I don't want to retire, I'm enjoying myself too much...but if I did, I would probably continue doing what I'm doing as a volunteer in various Children's Hospitals and clinics.

The idea of working definitely has advantages and disadvantages. People have already mentioned the advantages, and I agree with them all. There is something about the level of autonomy that comes with that sort of freedom that I think would make me very happy.

I do not have the opportunity to work remotely on a regular basis, but I love it on the rare occasion that I do. One thing I've noticed, though, is that I have a harder time staying on track with my diet. I tend to graze, and being at home makes it harder. I work in a corporate office, and thankfully, there is rarely food, so no temptation.

I used to think that eventually I would find a position that would allow me to work remotely, but I am starting to think it would be a bad idea because I fear I would gain all my weight back. In fact, I'm starting to think I may never retire for that reason!

And you thought this was not relevant to weight loss! ;)

Either way, glad you have an offer. You could try it and see how it goes.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
