None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. Stalls are a normal, natural and necessary part of the process of losing weight.

As you get closer to goal you may stall more frequently and your weight loss may slow down.

Some of that is natural, some of it may be due to more relaxed food choices.

Are you:

Following your program?

Getting in all of your Protein and fluids every day?

Taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed?

Exercising reasonably?

If you are unhappy with your progress so far then why not make an appointment with your NUT?

From where I sit it seems to me you are doing great!

Embrace the Stall!

I just got over a huge 3-4 period of no weight loss and then lost 2/12 lbs in 2 days. I don't think for me it was a stall. I was traveling and home with sick kids and wasn't able to get as much exercise in and also junky "bites" crept in to my diet over the holidays. I think that a stall over 2-3 weeks warrants a careful look at your food and Water intake. Best of luck to you! I am 6 months out myself and down slightly over 55lbs.

I have been on a stall for a little over two weeks. Junk "bites" have also snuck back in along with not enough water...

I thought I would never get out of the 250's. I felt like i was stuck there forever, then I finally eeked into the 249-247 range and bounced around there thru Christmas and new years. Well this morning I stepped on the scale and 3.5 pounds gone and I'm 244.3.

I know the whole time I was losing inches cause shirts that I had that were sorta tight were suddenly not tight anymore. Some times you have to look at where you losing in other places besides the scale.

I'm right there with you ... same exact weight for 2 weeks now. I'm frustrated, but still good with it. I know in a few days it will move and I will be back again. It seems to happen to me every couple of months. Try (I say "try" because I know it is harder than it seems) not to focus on the scale during this time and look more toward NSV's instead ... how are your clothes fitting? Did you check your measurements? SMILE ... do you feel good? When all else fails, I put on my biggest pair of pants that I ever wore (just over a year ago) and watch them literally fall off of me! This makes me feel soooo much better. LOL!!! These are the things that get me through.

I feel like I'm stalled more often than not. I'm 6 weeks post op and down 23 lbs from day of surgery, which by most people's standards would be great! But I had such a huge weight loss my first two weeks that now I'm like "Well, this is my life now, I'm stuck here forever". I've been trying to be really active this week and everything that has gone in my mouth has been some form of Protein so we'll see what the scale says when I weigh in with my doctor tomorrow!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
