Any ideas for Bento Box Lunch?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently pre-op just waiting on pins and needles for my approval to come through and I'm looking for ideas for lunch and Snacks once I'm fully healed. My mother bought me several bento boxes (she's had the surgery) because she knows I take my Breakfast, lunch and Snacks to the office every day, and if I didn't bring it, I don't eat it. What are some things that everyone eats? I'd like to have a large list to choose from so I don't eat the same things every day, because this causes me to cheat. I get bored with the same stuff and venture into the break room...

I'm also pre-op and have been checking out some blogs lately for ideas on eating through the various stages of this. There is one by a lady who had WLS 9 years ago and has been able to keep the weight off. She is a big fan of the bento box lunch and has lots of posts of what's in her bento box that day. The blog is called "the world according to eggface" and she also has a Facebook page. Even just reading her back story on the blog is inspirational.

I've started to eat the p3 by Oscar Mayer. It has 13 gram of Protein of course it would be awhile before you could eat that. Also, Jennie-O makes turkey sticks that come in packaging like sting cheese. I've only found them at Walmart. I took milk a lot to work as a snack early on because it filled me up and counted towards my liquid.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
