kaydeemacc 10 Posted January 6, 2016 Hello-just wondering if anyone else continues to feel weak, lethargic, and nauseated? Also I experience rapid heart rate when I lie down at night and at random times throughout the day. Am I alone in this? I just had my surgery 12/28 if that helps. TinyTink 268 Posted January 6, 2016 Sounding dehydrated. How much Water and Protein are you getting?
kaydeemacc 10 Posted January 6, 2016 Sounding dehydrated. How much Water and Protein are you getting?. Honestly not enough and it never crossed my mind that I just might be dehydrated. I try to aim for 48 oz of water and I'm quite confused on how much protein I should be getting because my after care instructions conflict: one on page it says I need 40g minimum of protein; another page say aim for 60g. I may get 30g in a day.

You are VERY early out from major surgery. Give yourself a break. Healing takes time. Rest and stay hydrated. Each day that goes by you will begin to feel better and better
TinyTink 268 Posted January 6, 2016 You definitely need to increase fluids. I believe most plans shoot for 64 oz a day. I hope you feel better soon!

Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted January 6, 2016 Well, drink more Water and get in more Protein. You need at least 64 oz of Fluid a day. And if your instructions are to get in at least 40 grams of Protein but aim for 60 grams, 30 grams is nowhere in that range. What exactly is confusing? You will probably feel lousy until you get enough hydration and nutrition. You just had major surgery and need to heal.

Tomorrow is the big day!! Frankly, I think it depends on how mobile you were before surgery. I had a difficult time with stairs even before surgery so I didn't even attempt them. I think it's just important to have someone around in case you fall or something. You need to be up and moving around as much as possible. Best of luck with your surgery. beachdreamin 5 Posted January 7, 2016 Dehydration will cause those symptoms. Try to sip on Propel zero all day long or ice cubes trying to keep hydrated.
