Recommended Posts

I drink coffee just like I always have. Coffee, one pack of Splenda and powdered Creamer. I'm alive and doing just fine. :)

I should also say that the reason I use Protein Shakes or powder in my coffee is because I loathe any and all sugar substitutes. I have tried them all and just nah.....

I am a coffee fanatic, always was and always will be....never curved my addiction since WLS one bit.

My primary coffee maker costs well over $300 and worth every penny. Always buy my coffee from specialty stores.

But I'm different than most people I read on this forum...I am not (and never will be) on any particular diet. So I still enjoy the things I always have.

Difference is that now, since WLS, my overall daily consumption of food is a fraction of what it was before WLS...I eat about 1/10th...and what I eat I eat healthy. And enjoy those little things life offers.

I am close to nine months out. For the first six months, I had only 1/4 cup of black coffee in the morning, but now have worked my way back to a full cup. I always get my 80oz of Water, not counting the coffee. My NUT seemed fine with this when I met with her a few weeks ago.

Found Fairlife at Staters here in California. Bought the last one. I made a double Decaf espresso and added 1 truvia. Whipped the Fairlife and SF hazelnut creamer and made a yummy Cappuccino.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
