How much is enough?

Recommended Posts

Has my first fill post surgery last Monday. The doctor put in 3ml and then took out .5 because I was having problems swallowing Water. I haven't been able to eat much at all and I am not able to even think about solid food in the morning. I am scheduled for another fill at the end of the month but I don't think I need it. Is this normal?

There's really no "normal." Some people never need a fill; their bands work for them upon healing. I understand that, since my surgery, it's common for a band to go in with some saline rather than completely empty. Everyone's experience is different. You'll find that many who have the same size band compare saline levels, but comparisons are generally pointless.

If you're too uncomfortable now, you might want to go in to take out a tad more saline and see how that works. It's not uncommon to be unable to eat in the morning or unable to drink cold liquid, but warm and hot liquids are fine. I've come across a few who wouldn't eat before noon. It seems extreme to me, but that's a call we all make for ourselves.

It seems common on this board that many banders are very tight in the morning and the band loosens up during the day. Others feel the same restriction at all times. I dunno... Each band and person seems to have their own personalities.

Glad you are better.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
