Went through that and used blankets and socks. Summer came soon enough. Gotta love Florida.

I've been cold all the time too! Unfortunately it's still kind of chilly here in Los Angeles.

I am cold all the time. I have been this way since I lost over 100 pounds several years ago. My doctor told me he thinks my body may never adjust to my lighter weight. He told me to just bundle up and enjoy it because I live in the desert, so when everyone else is miserable in the heat I am comfortable.

Fat keeps you warm like a winter coat. As you lose that fat your body is losing insulation- therefore you're cold. VERY common.

True. But I do think it is more than that. If it were just about the "coat" coming off, then it wouldn't have started on weeks one. I checked; I was still totally fat that day. It's fascinating.

Lol.

Inner Surfer Girl offered a very good explanation of this phenomenon experienced early on.......so much blood flow is redirected towards the surgery site in order to heal.

Makes perfect sense.

I remember being cold in the hospital and certainly later on at home.

I was cold this morning when I got up at 5:00am....made coffee and sat by the fireplace. Took a while to warm up.....

Oh yes! I am usually really cold in the late afternoons. I am almost 2 weeks post op and feel like laying down at around 4 pm and feel really cold no matter how many blankets I use

I also live in FL and when it is 70 degrees I am STILL cold. I am wearing fleece and sweat shirts when most people are in shorts. The humidity bothers my allergies...but I am still cold.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
