You seem to be incredibly, boringly, normal - liquids tend to go through with little restriction. Some will have more inflammation in the stomach after surgery than others, which can restrict the flow of liquids (hence the usual advice to sip, sip, sip your liquids or they might come back up on you if you are suffering from that level of inflammation.) People who are having problems tend to post on these forums more than those who don't, so the problems "seem" to be normal and we get concerned if we don't have them. And, you aren't going to gain weight with the very small amounts that you are consuming this early out, and the matter that you aren't having any problems on your liquid phase has no bearing on how much you will ultimately be able to consume later on.

You are not consuming enough to be worried about weight gain at this stage of the game...don't obsess.

No pain and no nausea, that just means you are taking small enough sips! Keep doing what you are doing because you are doing it right!

I am 15 days post op and had no issues at all with liquids or Protein. I got 64 ounces of liquids a day and 60 grams of protein. No pain or nausea. I thought something was wrong with me too because my dad had the sleeve 3 years ago and what he explained post op to be like was nothing like what I have experienced. I understand your concern because I have been reading everyone's experience on here and thinking, mine is nothing like there's but I've come to realize after talking to my doctor that everyone's process is different. Many factors come into play, your age, health before surgery, weight, etc. And for the future, in case your similar to me, my doctor just switched me over to soft/solid foods (which I also read and have been told is a hard transition) and I have not been nauseous or thrown up once. When I'm full I get this kinda "punch" is the only way I can describe it to my sternum and I don't eat anymore. I am able to eat about 4 ounces a sitting, depending on what I'm eating. Because I am taking food down so well though, I have been very careful to keep track of nutrition and calories on my fitness pal. Hope this helps ???? You are doing just fine.

Also! The Premiere Protein Shakes are the best! ???? I drink those too! By far my favorite out if all the ones I've tried!

According to my surgeon there should be no physical reason that anyone can't get in at least 3 premier Protein shakes the day after surgery so it sounds like you are right on track.

Since you mentioned you are neurotic, here is a heads up:

Just keep focusing on following your program by getting in all of your Protein and fluids, taking your Vitamins and supplements when and as instructed, and exercising when cleared and you will lose weight.

Just keep in mind that the numbers on the scale may be erratic at first because of IV fluids and swelling. Also, you will stall and most people experience their first stall about three weeks after surgery.

Embrace the Stall!

This sounds just like me! How has the last few weeks been going?

Did you notice restriction once you started on purees and/or solids?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
