I'm on Day 13! I really haven't been hungry at all. I had one episode where my stomach growled and I just ate a little bit of sugar free Jello. Herbal tea and broth also help. It sounds weird but they are "comforting".

My advice is to constantly drink all day, even when you are not thirsty. You want to keep your stomach "full" at least the first few days, once you get used to it, it won't be so bad.

This is great advice as it's what my nutritionist advised me to do. Make drinking habitual and don't wait until your thirsty, or "it's time" to drink. Have some form of liquid with you at all times.

That's exactly what I'm doing! Lol I have a 24oz Starbucks cup and I'm continually sipping from it....when I start to feel a tad bit like I might be hungry I take a few long sips to help tide me over for a bit. So far so good!!!!!

Yeah basically if you wait until you are thirsty of hungry it is already too late. You want to never be thirsty or hungry.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
