November 2015 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

So today I weighed myself and the scale says I gained 2 pounds. I had a rough couple days and I have been eating poorly. Today I'm back on track and hopefully lose those 2 pounds by Friday... Has anybody gained any weight since surgery? I think I need to stop having the 2 Snacks in between.

Mine goes up and down within 2 lbs...I doubt you ate enough to gain 2 lbs at this point

Regarding your diet, you and I are pretty much spot on. I've started doubling up my Protein shakes, generally two scoops of ON 100% whey per 8 oz of almond milk. Down 80lbs as of last week.

Congratulations on the 80lb loss! That is terrific! In recent weeks, I have shifted away from Protein Shakes toward a Quest Protein Bar for Breakfast. I got pretty tired of the shakes after a while and thought that the Fiber in the bars would be helpful. I'm still hitting about 100g of Protein, but a little more of it is starting to come from regular foods.

I was sleeved 11/8. I'm having a hard time getting my fluids in. I use to drink Water with no problem and now I don't like plain water. I add Crystal Light and it is a little better. I struggle a bit too with the Protein. If I don't have a Protein Shake there is no chance of getting it all in.

I've lost 40 lbs and feel great. Still tired but feeling good.

I am glad to hear I am not the only with these issues. It's nice to have you all to hear about it.

Is the Facebook group closed or secret? I have only told immediate family about my surgery. If it is secret, I would love to be added: Robin Czajka.

The group is up and running! Feel free to add me on FB or I'll add you if you send me your info!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
