Katsitsyahawe 16 Posted January 3, 2016 I am getting a bit worried about my "tool". I am down 83 pounds since October of this year. I was originally 406 and am now 323. This last week I have been exceptionally hungry. I'm by no means eating like i used to but it feels like i'm eating a lot compared to what my new normal has become. I usually do a shake for Breakfast, a shake for lunch and a 1/4-1/2 cup dinner. I met with my doc and nut a few weeks ago and they said if i was hungry throughout the day (like i had mentioned I was starting to be) that it was okay to have a little something. It wasn't a snack so much as an additional meal. So a piece of string cheese or lunch meat here and there has been what I've been doing. Tonight i was freezing and decided to have chili for dinner. I initially had my normal 1/4 cup but was still hungry a half hour later, so I had another 1/4. Then an hour later still hungry so I finished the last 1/2 cup. I know in the grand scheme of things, it's not a ton of food but i'm worried. I'm so proud of how far I've come, not only with the weight loss but with healthy eating and working out. I hope this is not a sign of life to come.
AnA92212 577 Posted January 3, 2016 83 pounds since October is awesome. I am just over 8 months out and I work out 6 days a week. My body needs more calories now. String cheese and lunch meat aren't bad options. It is sometimes hard to distinguish between head hunger and real hunger. Just keep listening to your body. If you hit a stall or gain talk to your NUT.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) How much Water are you drinking? An hour after eating you should be trying to get your fluids in. Are you taking anything for stomach acid? Once you are healed unless you have a stricture you can eat non stop all day. You have to measure your food, track your Protein and eat till you meet your goals. That is it. In between you should be chugging all the Water you can take. Edited January 3, 2016 by OutsideMatchInside
TammyDTM 391 Posted January 4, 2016 @@Katsitsyahawe I think you were suffering from head hunger. It was cold and you ate something comforting. It made you feel good. You wanted to keep feeling good. During those times I find that I need to get up and move and do something constructive or just go to bed.
