For all those self pay people out there. What finance company did you use and how much was your interest rate if you do not mind me asking. Does anyone know of any interest free for a year or so options?

The clinic I went to referred me to Prosper, which is sort of a crowd lending site. You sign up for the service, establish your loan (loan category, how much you need, how long of a term) and then they assign you an interest rate and a loan grade. Investors buy small or large pieces of your loan, and it gets funded.

It took several days for mine to fund and when it was done they transferred the money to my checking account. I think the interest rate was around 8.9% or thereabouts, but of course that will vary based on credit. I didn't think that was too bad for an unsecured loan.

Mine is covered through my insurance but I know I went through care credit for my sons medical needs that were not covered by insurances. They do specials with 0 interest rates for like 12 months. Worth checking into. First make sure the drs office accepts this.

I went through True Results, My insurance did cover but I had to come up with $3900. True results financed that balance for me with not interest! Care credit is another option!

I refinanced my home and took the money that was needed from the equity.

For my sleeve surgery I did an unsecured loan at my bank because it was only $4,500.

Now that I've been researching plastic surgery for loose skin removal, I'm looking at financing again but it will cost a lot more. In my research I found LightStream which rewards those with great credit. A $10k unsecured loan can be as low as 5.99% APR which is fantastic for an unsecured rate. I'm keeping them in the back of my mind if I haven't saved enough once I start going to consults.

I'd love to know more about your experience with True Results. I am starting the process with them in TX. We have UHC as our insurance. WLS is excluded, but I am covered for the hernia repair. My part will be $3900, but my insurance has a $3000 deductible. I was told today that I would not have to pay that. I'm confused and wondering how that can be. Did you pay your deductible on top of the $3900? What did you have to do to get payments set up through True Results?

If you don't qualify for a signature loan, then it is unlikely you will qualify for loans. If you have bed credit saving up and paying cash is the best option.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
