towrecovery 2 Posted January 2, 2016 I am 4 days post opp and so far, the predictions of more frequent Diarrhea and gas are seem to be true. I don't mind too much, I got a dog, I can blame him :-) However, I am finding it hard to differentiate when I'm going to pass gas and when I am going to have a stool...... Will this get easier to tell the difference? I don't want to have to walk around everywhere with a spare pare of underwear or go to the bathroom every time I need to fart. SIPSGrammy 27 Posted January 3, 2016 It's been 6 months since surgery for me.. I find the more fat, sugar and calories I eat, the more I have gas/shitz I get too, Especially in the mornings.

Stevehud 1,790 Posted January 3, 2016 what you eat makes a big difference, its one of the reaons i went and am, pretty much sugar free all around, sugars and fats cause these wet bowel movements, its that Sticky wet, stuff, that is related to dumping, thats why i tell people to look at your Protein shakes etc, ensure and others still have high sugar content. Heres an easy guide to put in your head, for every 4 grams of sugar you see in a product, that is equal to 1 teaspoon full of sugar. Avoid sugars and maximize your honeymoon period. When the honeymoon is over....its over in a big way. give yourself the biggest jumpstart and chance to succeed. Good luck, You can do it!
RoseSA 13 Posted January 4, 2016 You will eventually work out what specific foods give you gas and the runs. I did have a few accidents so be careful when breaking winds initially. Sugars don't effect me as much as fats. With my op they removed my gall bladder so I cannot digest fats at all. Basically you will see the fat floating on the surface of the Water after flushing (after a bowel movement which will normally be very loose and may even be liquid).
