Salmon Recipes Please!

Recommended Posts

I keep hearing about how great salmon is for us but plain salmon isn't something I'm fond of.

I'd love to hear some recipes to help make it taste better like seasonings and such. I really like fish and seafood in general, and I'm not ready to give up on salmon just yet! TIA!

My husband always grills it for us and I love it. Funny thing is that I would never touch the stuff until I was over 50

My family love my salmon. i put it in a pan, skin side down, pour barbecue sauce on it, enough but not too much, some garlic and onion powder. Cover it with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes on 400. I comes out moist and its like poached. for the last 5 minutes I turn the broiler on, as I like the top a little crispy. I know it sounds strange, but so good. Use a low sugar barbecue sauce, if you want to stay on track. I am 4 1/2 months post sleeve.

I love wrapping salmon fillet up in parchment paper or banana leaf if I can find it and baking it at 400 for 12-15 minutes depending on thickness.

My favorite way to do it is place ginger, lime, and keffir leaves in the parchment with the salmon and it absorbs the flavor during cooking. Or sometimes I just do lemon. You can put anything in the parchment paper- veggies will steam right along with the fish inside the pouch.

Omg! That sounds amazing! Wish I could have some now! I am writing this in my journal so I can make it ASAP! ????

Salmon is great on the grill.

Run it at 350.....rub some olive oil all over it.......lightly hit it with a mixture of sea salt & fresh ground pepper.

After a few minutes then brush on a glaze. Frank's Red Hot Sweet Chili Sauce is perfect. (It's not hot)

Now if you really want to cook something tasty an easy........try some Ahi tuna on the stove top.

Superfast......super tasty and loaded with great Protein that we all need.

I really like marinaded salmon.

We used low sodium soy sauce, olive oil, honey, garlic, onion, salt and pepper, marinate for a few hours and either grill or bake!

I grew up in the pacific NW.

Place your salmon fillet on foil.

season with Montreal steak seasoning & finely chopped fresh garlic

Mix a tea spoon of liquid smoke with a low calorie BBQ Sauce ( I make my own with splenda brown sugar) Coat the fillet

top with a few small pieces of butter

Wrap in foil. grill or bake at 400 until done.

My diabetic husband is a good cook and loves to do anything on the barbecue ("Mrs. Santa" got him a new smoker/barbq for Christmas ) so this healthy recipe for salmon comes out great everytime. He rubs the salmon with some Kraft mayo with Olive Oil, a little Splenda brown sugar, and sprinkles on some costco no salt seasoning, and thats it ! Grills it about 10-12 mins. Also , one of the the most delicious things I ever had from a barbecue was fresh caught tuna , and slices of grilled pineapple with a little bit of brown sugar on them. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

salmon patties are good if you like the canned salmon, I am not a fan of grilled or baked salmon steaks so I make salmon patties like crab patties. mix with an egg, some bread crumbs and onion, lightly brown in non stick skillet. pretty good and not really fishy .

With all the suggestions here and the countless recipes on line and in your own cookbooks that will suit your weight-loss plan, I'll skip giving you more.

My suggestion, however, is that you google the Canadian cooking theory for fish. People tend to way overcook fish, turning it to dry, tasteless, near-ashes. Salmon is one of the glories. It's a shame to kill one by yanking it from the waters and unforgivably criminal to then massacre it a second time.

I use grated ginger, garlic, soy sauce,a little olive oil to marinate. Then heat up a Iron skillet and cook on both side for about 5 min each, until it firms up. place on a bed of spinach or kale. That fish posted looks like tuna not salmon, how odd.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
