DangerMouse007 105 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) I have a vague memory of my nutritionist saying something about gum. I usually only have gum when I fly, but I did find myself partaking some gum this last weekend when it was offered. I think the warning about gum was not to swallow it; that could be very bad! cdsjjotn 516 Posted December 31, 2015 I called my doctor a week after surgery cuz I couldn't take the aftertaste of the Protein Shakes. He said do not swallow it and the chewing can cause gas but everyone's different . Ive been chewing ever since and have had no problems
sully571 1 Posted December 31, 2015 Gum increases your Salvia which makes your stomach think that you are eating, increases gastric fluids and can cause gas. Also if it is accidentally swallowed it can cause blockages.
