HELP!! Just got Fill - Blood...

Recommended Posts

you need an unfill.

not only should you be able to eat Soups, mushies but also SOLIDS!!! your dr should be more attentive. i called mine when i was to tight, and i could get down Soups just had a hard time with solids, she cam in on her day off to unfill me because being tight is VERY SERIOUS!!!

have you been having reflux? PLEASE tell your dr you need a slight unfill. to me being to tight was WAY worse than being to loose.

my dr took all the fill he added plus -.2 cc to let my stomache heal because i irritated it from the pb'ing.

((((((hugs))))))

You know, I understand about the drive. Until recently, I had to drive that far (and out of the country) to get an adjustment. But the band is higher maintenance until you find the right adjustment and it's just something you have to agree to adapt to. Like kids or a pet, there are just going to be times when it is time-consuming. And it will eventually be worth it.

IMHO, you have received good information here and need to really listen. If a doctor left a nurse in charge of that big an adjustment, then they both need to "get in trouble." That's just a huge jump. First, you can suffer esophageal damage. And, you will lose LESS weight when your band is too tight, because you will learn to live on high calorie liquids.< /p>

Remind them that the Inamed book says the band works with solid food. And that their adjustment has left you in a position where you cannot eat solid food and that is NOT what you expect.

Get assertive. You deserve a lapband that works with food.< /p>

Go to the Dr. and get an unfill..you know your body better then anyone. Do not listen to this nurse. If you can not eat mushys or solids you need an unfill..everytime you throw up you are risking slippage of your band. everytime you throw up you are damaging your esophogus..this is not how the band was designed to work. Getting as little as .2 cc's removed can make a huge difference. Don't be foolish..tighter doesnt always mean you will lose faster. With the Holidays coming , do you really want to be miserable like you have been? Call you Dr. today!

Vomiting blood is not good. And not being able to drink anything but Clear Liquids is not good either. How are you going to get any nutrition? Being overfilled is definitely not good and can lead to slippage and other problems. It think the suggestion of calling Dr. Rumbaut's office is a good idea. Please don't delay.

I did end up going back to get .3 cc's taken out much better now. Still vomiting now and then but not every meal or every day but a few times a week. Some of that is my fault from not chewing well enough. But the .3 cc helped alot. Does anyone else notice that once the pb they almost cant stop they get sick then they feel better for a couple minutes then it comes back they do it again and so on?

Has anyone else noticed that Dr. Rumbauts cell phone dosent work? does anyone else have this problem?

I haven't tried to call Dr. Rumbaut's cell phone lately; if you're having trouble, you might want to try his office. I spoke to him on the cell phone months ago, but he may have switched carriers since then.

Glad you got unfilled -- hope you feel a lot better soon.

That's worriesome to me. You are not supposed to be vomiting/pbing this often. I do hope you're doing liquids only after you do this. ?? I do hope you get Dr. Rumbaut on the phone. I'm a bit concerned that your band will slip with all this vomiting. :D

Hi Sheean,

How are you doing??? I hope you have had some of your fill removed by now as it sounds like you were WAY too restricted. I understand wanting to avoid the long drive but it seems that there are a lot less complications if fills are approached less aggressively. My first fill was 2cc's and it led to a big bunch of problems... let us know how you are doing when you get a chance and hope you are feeling better!

Sheean...Does your Dr. require you to do liquids after a PB? Mine has me do 1 day of liquids after a PB..this could be why your are continuing to PB, you need to rest your esophagus..also you should not be PBing that often. I was just told last week by my Dr. that a person who PBs 1-3 times a week is at greater risk of slippage. I have only pbed 2 times in 8 months..and NO If I PB I do not go back later and continue to eat. I know what that can do to my band and I know after a PB I need to be on liquids. In my opinion if I was PBing a few times a week like you stated..I would go in for another slight unfill becasue my band is too important to me to be risking losing it or having it slip becasue I continue to PB..regardless if you are not chewing well enough the fact remains you are still pbing...not to mention the damage it is doing to your esophagus..but that is just me and my opinion. Hope you are doing better and good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
