I think I ate to much..:(

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, so I am here feeling a little fustrated.

I am 10 days post op and I am supposed to be still on a full liquid diet until monday.

Well today I was able to eat

8oz Protein shake

4oc Cream Soup

4oz Greek yogurt (plain)

2 string cheese

Then again 4oz of cream Soup

And 4 oz ricotta cheese

I feel like maybe this is too much to soon?!?

I know I wasn't supposed to have the string cheese and ricotta...

How was able to fit all this in though?

I am calling my nutritionist Tomorrow and ask if that's normal.

What do you all think?

Just because a three year old can cross the highway doesn't mean they should. Try to slow your roll and don't get so impatient. These diet stages will pass soon enough.

If after you measure the food that you are allowed on your plan you still feel hungry then go for sugar free popsicles or sugar free Jello which will pass through your system as Fluid.

You will find your brain and your taste buds and jaws getting waaaaaaay ahead of what your brutalized stomach is able to handle. But at the end of the day, your new stomach is the boss of you and has the potential of teaching you a miserable lesson for hours at a time.

Yes, I think I am not being patient enough. I need to control myself bc I am feeling like crap knowing that it might have been to much for my new stomach... I am only 10days out

At 10 days out, you may not be able to feel full - you need to follow your doc/nut instructions.

Agree with Miss Mac - just because you can eat, doesn't mean you should. You went thru a lot to have this surgery - honor that by taking care of yourself.

Take care of your new tiny tummy. Get back on track with what you're nutritionist says.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
