Having trouble fallowing everything

Recommended Posts

Hi, its been a while but I live so far away from everyone i can talk to so I don't . I still have trouble with Protein i stopped writing in my journal . I have been baking so much over the holidays that i found myself eating things i thought i would get sick over but don't. I'm afraid i have messed up my stomach for good.I feel funny calling the doctors and nurses at the hospital . i just think i'm in a slump.I don't know who to talk to.

How long ago was your surgery? Mine was 11/23. I thought I'd get sick over "bad" foods, but I can eat anything. It is SO HARD to not go back to my old habits. But I'm trying my hardest....

Is that what you mean? It's so easy to make poor choices?

Don't feel funny.....CALL THEM! That's what they are there for. Before it gets out of hand - CALL. You are not the only one to have struggles...I"m sure they have seen it all. You didn't mess up your stomach. Try searching for posts on the "BOT" back on track" pouch reset. It could help you.

I had my surgery on Oct 5th and i have had a problem with Protein from the beginning.I am trying to stay away from crap food. I really think I am afraid to loose to much more weight because of my muscle break down. I was a very solid person before but now everything feels like mush.

I will call , thank you . I still feel funny about it . It's hard not having anyone to talk to and it takes me forever to type anything so i don't do that either.I just don't have time to sit on the computer. Thank you for your advice.

Can you be more specific so we can try and help? You said you have trouble with Protein. Are you not tolerating certain foods or are you not getting enough Protein? Are you doing Protein shakes? You said you don't want to lose too fast as you don't want to lose muscle.... meeting your protein intake will greatly help with this.

You have lost 58 pounds in less than 3 months and only have 36 more to go to goal so your loss is fantastic. You did say you have been baking and eating things you shouldn't. I am guessing you mean sweets. You said you are not getting sick from them. Being that you have a sleeve, you will not necessarily get sick from sweets but you should not be having them anyway, specially so soon. If I eat any carbs they awaken my carb and sweet monsters and make me "hungry". I avoid these foods as much as possible.

You can get back on track. Call your surgeon's office and see if there is a support group you can attend. Or post more specific questions here for more helpful answers.

Yes I do mean sweets , and they do make me hungry. As far as the protein goes it is that i am so sick of the shakes i can't stand them anymore.I also tried the unflavored and it is just to gritty. The support group meets once a week or once a month in Daytona at 6 pm and i live in Deltona. I do not drive well in the dark so I do not go, it's just to far in the dark for me. I'm sorry i sound like i am making excuses for myself . I guess i am just in a slump. thanks for your help.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
