Besides the baby part. I didn't realize this picture came from a baby website

I also love pickles and drink the frozen pickle juice pops but I haven't had surgery yet. Mine is scheduled for Jan 26 2016

Pickles are a favorite of mine too. The thread linked above was one I started and I was overjoyed to hear I could have them again at some point.

I ate pickles and olives as soon as I was OK'd for regular food.....about 6-8 weeks out. One of my fav Snacks is a pickle, cream cheese, ham roll up.

I may have had Kalamata olives during my soft phase but certainly started pickles and olives with regular food, too. I just bought a new jar of Maille cornichons and a new jar of capers. I LOVE pickles.

Love pickles, too.

I resumed eating them after I was cleared for solid foods.

Pickle juice (the non-sugary type) is a wonderful remedy for muscle soreness from workouts.

Famous Dave's & Wickle's are my favorites, but I have to limit these to very infrequent eating due to the sugar content. The basic dill spear is what I normally have.

I was able to have pickles once I progressed to regular foods too. Pickles were one of the only things I ever craved early post op. That first pickle was heavenly.

I love pickles, too! I make my own fermented dills and have been eating them since I was cleared to have mushy foods. Love them in chicken salad and even pour some of the juice in to make it more moist. After my sleeve, I can't seem to tolerate anything sweet but sure am drawn to all the savory things like black pepper, salsa and pickles.

Every thing does change after surgery. I loved pickles before and did often drink the juice as well. I have not been interested in them at all yet, I am 3.5 months out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
