I had a lapband removal to gastric bypass surgery on the 23rd. I was released on the 24th and had to go back into the hospital on the 25th for fever. Finally, I was discharged on the 26th and since then I have not been able to sleep more than a couple of hours and have not been able to nap!!! When will this end????

It might be just your pain medication. Or perhaps the stress of a major surgery and the complications you have been having after. Just focus on your Water, walk whenever you can, and take gooooood care of yourself. It gets better. :)

I also had my band removed, but had the sleeve... I couldn't sleep well for a couple of weeks afterward. I think It had to do with the pain meds because after I stopped taking them, I was back to normal in a few days. Hopefully it gets better!

Are you sleeping better now? I just saw this but wanted to let you know that someone else has this problem. I've had several surgeries and I think it is a reaction to the anesthesia. I will have trouble sleeping for about two weeks, but it always goes away.

Thank you for the response. Yes, I am sleeping better. I am kinda blah with the liquid intake and Protein intake. It just seems a lot. :) I will be glad when I figure out what I can eat and not slime :( Also, I have been at a stall for the last two weeks.

The stall is very common in the beginning. I've seen a lot of people talk about stalls being common in week three. Keep up with the Protein and fluids. That will make you feel better in the long run. I had my surgery 10/26/15 and I thought I would never start feeling better. Week seven I finally felt better. I'm still very gradually getting better. I still have trouble figuring out what regular foods I can eat. I have cottage cheese every day, I'm glad I like it a lot. I usually have about a fourth cup canned fruit (in juice, no sugar added) with it. I have Premier Protein shake every morning for Breakfast. I eat a lot of really soft foods still. I was so wanting real food after surgery until I realized that my pouch rejected most everything. I named my pouch because she is such a brat. I'm still trying foods and I understand that it takes a long time to tolerate meats. I have a hard time with it. My high weight was 278, day of surgery I was about 265, and I weighed 217 this morning. I am so thrilled that I've lost 61 pounds. Sometimes it seems so incredibly slow and then I think about my total lost and it does not seem possible! Stick to it. You will succeed.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
