whitty13094 3 Posted December 29, 2015 When did y'all try a little bit of coffee for the first time? Normal coffee, not de-caf.

MIMISAN 404 Posted December 29, 2015 Have you tried any Decaf? In preparation for having to give it up I tried some Do Nut shop decaf the other day and it was pretty good.
Ronjohn 84 Posted December 29, 2015 Will it give me that same twitch I'm looking for?
BestDayEver 418 Posted December 30, 2015 My program required waiting 60 days and believe me on day 61 I had some coffee! At night after dinner, I have the Krispy Kreme k cup Decaf and it is pretty good. I have 2 cups regular in the morning.
OKCPirate 5,323 Posted December 30, 2015 On day six the spiders start coming out from under the bed in droves...just saying
Beck Gal 68 Posted December 30, 2015 I was a habitual caffeine drinker and drank it up to the day before surgery... Haven't had any caffeine since 12/15, but haven't had any issues... And I worked in coffee for 7 years prior. I didn't expect the easy comedown from it but maybe my pain meds helped out the first few days ????
ocgirl15 667 Posted December 30, 2015 My surgeon allows it after 2 weeks but I am afraid to try it. It gave me heart burn before surgery.
newmebithebypass 713 Posted December 30, 2015 My plan says no caffeine for a year as it can mess with your new pouch
mespo 30 Posted December 30, 2015 3 months...and it was delicious! When did y'all try a little bit of coffee for the first time? Normal coffee, not de-caf.
whitty13094 3 Posted December 30, 2015 Thanks guys, was just wondering. Seems everyone's program is different. I'll stick to mine, but it's all good to know. For now, de-caf it is!
Ronjohn 84 Posted December 30, 2015 On day six the spiders start coming out from under the bed in droves...just saying Any wisdom for day seven?
teaqueen 113 Posted December 31, 2015 Seriously, the caffeine withdrawal is probably what I am dreading the most. I'm due for surgery next Tuesday...I have gotten from 3 cups in the am down to 1 so far. I quit coffee for both pregnancies and the initial headache really sucks. It passes, but that is the part I dread. Hopefully my gradual taper here during liquids week will ease me into the caffeine free New Year!
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted December 31, 2015 I agree. I didn't want to be dealing with caffeine withdrawal while also recovering from surgery, so I weaned myself off of caffeine gradually in the months leading up to surgery.
Ronjohn 84 Posted December 31, 2015 Make sure you ask your surgeon and don't assume what you read here is the same for everyone. I just read my post op diet on the puree stage and I can drink coffee. It just states that it can't count towards my liquid consumption for the day.
