Castillo15 25 Posted December 27, 2015 Is having 8 ounces of broth at a time to much? I am concerned that I came consume this much without pain or discomfort. Should I be concerned?
FL_Buckeye 12 Posted December 27, 2015 I'm curious, how long does it take you to consume that much? Are you sipping it over a certain period of time? I can do 8 ounces of milk and Protein mix over 20-30 minutes, but I can only do 3-4 ounces of cream Soup or yogurt in that time.
Castillo15 25 Posted December 27, 2015 It takes about 15 minutes but it just broth. It takes about 20 minutes or more for the Protein Shakes I make with milk.
FL_Buckeye 12 Posted December 28, 2015 Sounds about the same as me, but I don't know if that means we're both normal or not. ????
carol41 7 Posted December 28, 2015 I have a problem with Protein Shakes because I cannot find any I like. Any suggestions?
Castillo15 25 Posted December 28, 2015 I can only handle the Unjury chocolate. I have vanilla and several nectar brand but it makes me gag just thinking about drinking them.
FL_Buckeye 12 Posted December 28, 2015 I use Unjury as well. The chocolate in skim milk is the easiest for me. I use the unflavored in Jello and Soup and it's not terrible. The problem for me is more that I can smell it, not necessarily the taste. I also just found premade Isopure clear high Protein Drinks at the Vitamin Shoppe. Unfortunately the teas are high in caffeine, so that's a no no, but there are other flavors you can try.
Dub 9,922 Posted December 28, 2015 Is having 8 ounces of broth at a time to much? I am concerned that I came consume this much without pain or discomfort. Should I be concerned? Sounds completely normal to me.....especially over that time frame. I went through that initial period where I was worried that I was taking on my Protein shakes too easily. After getting off liquids on that 4th week.....I found out there is certainly a restriction there and was surprised and pleased that only a small amount of chicken breast or tuna was a meal. _Kate_ 2,224 Posted December 28, 2015 Its good that you are able to get that in after 12 days, many people really struggle and as Dub said you will certainly feel it once you start on food! When I had the sleeve, initially I felt that my surgeon hadn’t taken enough away. Had he actually done anything??? Then I had more solids and really knew he had. Congrats on the surgery and welcome to the losers bench
