Dub 9,922 Posted December 28, 2015 It's gonna go great !!!! I'd not do the beer thing during the liquid diet, though. You are going to feel much, much better in a day or two and life gets easy.

sarasleeve 17 Posted December 30, 2015 Update: my surgery went really well, but I wasn't prepared for the level of pain I have been experiencing. I've been walking around a good bit, but have yet to get rid of the gas in my body. The back pain has been worse than the pain in my abdomen. I know it will be better in the coming days, but right now I'm hurting.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted December 30, 2015 Welcome to this site and best of luck with your surgeries. As the OP has noted, the gas pain can be uncomfortable. Walking helps. I also used a heating pad. It does get better.
Chandi83 5 Posted December 30, 2015 Update: my surgery went really well also. Didnt take any pain meds at the hospital but after coming home and my first sip of Water the gas pains set in and so I started on the pain meds. Walking helps and burping but It's still floating around my upper body. Not fun at all, I can't wait for this gas to leave.

cindash 25 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) Hi everyone! I am a newbie to the Sleeve as well. I had the lapband two years ago and had problems with the port and had my band removed almost 3 months ago. My doctor likes to wait about 3 months before I get the sleeve which is scheduled on February 29th.. I am super excited than I get super nervous and scared. Thought I could come on here and find some new friends and support.. Need to hear all the good things that are happening and what to expect day by day. I forgot what it was like having the lapband done, nervous about it being irreversible too! UGGGG! Well thank you for listening and if you would like to add me as a friend please do! RaginCajun 177 Posted January 1, 2016 You'll do well. Just remember that WLS serves a single purpose, it keeps us from eating a lot at a single 'feeding'. Make sure you will be able to remove temptation to eat continuously throughout the day. That is the one thing which can undermine everything you will be trying to accomplish. -RC-
Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted January 2, 2016 sarasleeve, Welcome to the forums. It is so nice to meet you. Thank you for introducing yourself! Your story is so similar to so many weight loss surgery patients’ stories, and I hope the surgery works for you like it has for so many. Your list of anxieties shows you’re thinking ahead – that’s great! It’s good you realize that you need to keep the big picture in mind and not get down on yourself, because there WILL be setbacks. I suggest taking “before” pictures. If you hate them later, you don’t have to look at them. But you may want them to keep you motivated as you lose weight and hit goal weight so you can remember where you came from. I am so glad surgery went well for both sarasleeve and Chandi83! Both of you, keep us posted on your progress!
LEILE 66 Posted January 2, 2016 I hope you are doing awesome. My surgery is on Wednesday--I'm so nervous. It's outpatient and I am both excited and scared, but I also have a lot of confidence in my surgeon.
Stacey G 3 Posted January 3, 2016 So glad to hear your surgery went well! Mine did too. I was sleeved 12/29 and came home on New Years Eve. Pain is not a huge deal but the gas pain and the tenderness of my abdomen when walking, sitting, standing, is really uncomfortable. I have a huge bruise on my right side also and that's pretty sore. Having said that, I am having no issues getting in and keeping down Water, Jello, broth and a bit of premier Protein so I can't complain there. The only thing really bugging me is when I move and my stomach moves - OW. Can't wait to post and hear more as time goes by!
