Congratulations on getting your date and on Christmas no less. My surgeon's office closed down Wed and will reopen Monday. Santa didn't bring me my date maybe the New Year Baby will. I started June 16th, was done with the 6 months supervised diet in Nov and have been waiting since Dec 7th for my PCP medical clearance and a surgery date.

I'm excited! I decided since my pre op diet starts Han 19th and I've really never had a Protein shake before I thought I'd best try one! Ha! Also decided I'd best really give my pre op pre op diet a shot. Today I did a Protein Shake for Breakfast, I bought bodylogix women's Protein it has 100 cal. 20g protein 5g Fiber and no fat. I added some jif chocolate Peanut Butter powder with 2% milk. It was a ruff morning getting it down. Added ice, and vanilla extract. I got it down but wow..... Had 1/2 cup cottage cheese and chicken broth for lunch and for dinner did a cup of brown rice cooked in beef broth and fresh mushrooms, a lean pork chop and a cup of corn. It was a tough day... Running back and fourth to the bathroom ALOT but I'm in this for the long hall.. Took a few sips of a premade Premier Protein chocolate shake and totally drinking that tomorrow! Wow!

Anyone else getting your game face on?!

My nutritionist has had me replacing 1 meal per day with a protein shake. Try Syntrax nectar Chocolate Truffle. It's the best tasting I have found.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
