Sleeves 12/21! 1st night home was rough (22nd)! I had a complication during surgery bc my spleen was attached to my stomach so they had to remedy that 1st then continue on with the sleeve. Lost quite a bit of blood and was weak and really sore.

EVERY SINGLE DAY IS BETTER!!

Since 2nd day home I'm walking over a mile strolling the kids in the stroller 1-2xs a day. But when my energy runs out its immediate and I need to rest ASAP! I'm back to washing bottles and loading the dishwasher (top rack only--still a bit uncomfortable to bend), folding clothes! So glad I feel normal for the most part!

Now on to food! The last 2 days I've felt hungry but I think it's in my head! I want ANYTHING other than fruit or a Protein shake which along with Clear liquids are my only options. Some scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, tuna anything that's not sweet!

I'm just a day behind you. Had the sleeve on 12/22/15. I'm not feeling what I would consider "hunger" but have a strong desire to be done with broth and liquid Protein. I get strong nausea attacks while drinking either temp. Usually deep breathing overcomes it but sometimes it gets worse and I start to salivate like crazy. Breathing is still key for me to get through it.

Coconut Water has been a savior so far. It causes me the least amount of issues and is full of electrolytes.

  1. My sleeve was also 12/22/15 and I'm feeling exctly the same, Ready to move to the next "level" of mushies. I cannot believe how lucky I've been, no nausea or vomiting thus far. And I'm already able to tolerate hot and cold without side effects. I'm going to pick up some coconut Water tomorrow!

How's everyone's 1 week stats? Down 22lbs total from preop diet.

9 of those lbs since surgery on 12/21.

Feeling awesome! Incisions a little itchy but really feeling good overall!

Hope everyone else is feeling good too!

I'm feeling pretty good for the most part outside of being tired. I am finally getting all my Vitamins, Protein, Water, etc that I should. I still have a lot of "grumbling" in my stomach. The more I eat the more it seems to disappear.

As far as weight. I started my preop diet on 12/13 and lost 17 pounds. Since surgery I am down 20 pounds. I actually put on "real" shorts yesterday and they weren't tight, which was pretty cool.

I am getting tired of the liquid diet lifestyle... lol. I start mushy food on Wednesday

I am a 21st as well. I have a fairly decent routine of a spoonful of Greek low fat strawberry yogurt along with organic acia juice 1oz with 5oz of Water mixed with it. I did try some runny cream of wheat but it expanded in my pouch and really hurt. I do have a Protein fruity drink with 15 grams of protein in it that takes me most of the day to get down. Tastes great, I have cream Soup for lunch and dinner runny mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes saved me at Christmas dinner. I drink about 24-30 oz of infused water throughout the day, so at this point things are good for me.

I go in Wednesday for my post op appointment. I have been watching the scale but I need to stop that. I did not have a lot of pain, but I also have a high pain tolerance and I do not like to take any type of pain medication because I hate taking medications. I used my pump in the hospital 3 times while I was there, and that was mainly just to get rest because hospital bed is so uncomfortable. I work out in my elliptical for 30 minutes and do some squats and very low weight for arms. So far I have nothing but positive remarks for my surgery, best decision I ever made.

Wow you are doing great! How encouraging. I had to have a hernia repair that I didn't even know was a problem. My second night was the worst as well. You are doing a lot first right after surgery..you sound like a very busy person :-)

One week out (for most of us posting)!! To me it feels like an accomplishment!

I am wishing everyone success and relief and encouragement and peace in this new journey!!

I believe I have had a great deal of internal swelling and Water retention. I am just now at the right at the weight I was pre-op and waiting to finally see another drop in weight. I have lost 14lbs. thusfar but I am on the lower end of the continuum for BMI and am only 5'2" tall. I am hoping that my metabolic issues (PCOS) won't impede my ability to lose weight. I feel that maybe I have lost in measurement (i.e., inches, part of an inch, etc.).

Have a great day!

I was sleeved the 22nd. I've only had very minor gas pain. Other than that I feel pretty normal, except for sneezing! Boy does that hurt. I have gotten my Fluid up to the recommended 64 oz already. I'm having a hard time finding any Protein Powder that doesn't make me want to vomit. Luckily tomorrow will be 1 week so I can start on full liquids and have my Premier Protein shakes. That'll help get my Protein up where it needs to be.

I'm 6 days post op. The first 3 days were the worse. I ended up having a hiatal hernia repair along with my sleeve (which I didn't know I had) and even getting Water down at first was painful. I have a high pain tolerance and this has been very difficult. I can only eat about 1 ounce of food at a time. My surgeon put me on pureed foods right away. So getting Protein in is very difficult. On a good note, the 7 pounds I gained during surgery are finally gone, I'm off pain meds, and can move more each day. Looking at the bright side ☺.

I must say it is quite amazing the different diet regimes each surgeon has. 1 week liquid, 2 week liquid, puree, etc. You would think at this point there would be a regimented system that everybody would use.

I am also a 12/21 sleever. First day was the worst for me; couldn't stop getting sick. Thankfully every day since has been a little better than the previous.

I am currently on full liquids which includes the New Directions shakes and Soups I was able to eat prior to surgery. I am not gonna lie, I hope I never have to see another one of these shakes again. Presurgery was OK because they kept me on track but now I can't wait to move on to something, ANYTHING else.

I have my follow-up appointment on 1/5. Surgeon had to restitch one of my incisions before I left the hospital so I am looking forward to that being removed, all others are healing great. I am down 9 lbs since surgery.

Overall very thankful things have went well. ????

I had mine on 12/23. I am tolerating fluids well but my doctor said no Jello. I find it hard to know if I am getting enough nutrients but I am getting about 40g of Proteins a day and almost 50oz of Water. My follow up is tomorrow and I hope to move to the next level of liquid diet. I found the gas pain awful but it seems to have passed gas x strips were very helpful and a heating pad on my shoulder. I find my blood pressure meds make me feel weird so I will have to follow up on them with my doctor tomorrow.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
