Starbucks and lapbands!

Recommended Posts

I do -- but not NEARLY as often. I simply know that when I have my <multistep overpriced coffee order here> that I am sucking down X calories and will have to be on my exercise equipment for an extra hour or so that day.

See starbucks® beverages & food details

Some of those drinks are downright scary -- might as well get a milkshake :)

No wonder I get that temporary high after Starbucks. I had no idea that the sugars, carbs, & calories were that high. :) Scary is an understatement. Thanks for the link.

I agree with everyone else with the calories. I know they are a lot but as a treat, it's not so bad. I was told prior to surgery to lay off the caffeine and I did. I'm the goofball that now orders everything in Decaf and everyone looks at with the "why the heck are you getting coffee then?" look in their face. :)

Starbucks is not that bad, you just have to order right. I went today - 7 days post op - Got a China Tips Green Tea with 2 Splendas & some frothed Skim Milk. Very good!

In the winter I get a cafe misto with skim -- 12 g Protein and only 90 cals. In the summer, I get ice coffee -- no protein, but no cals either and it makes me HAPPY!

I'm addicted! I enjoy a sugar free, non fat cinnamon dulce and love them. I don't know how many calories. I would say 200-300.

Me and coworker have been watching our calories and looked at all the Starbucks drinks to find the ones with the least amount of calories and fat content. The grande nonfat sugar free latte's are only 130 calories. Super filling too. So the tall would be even less than this and you can get the Decaf variety if your Water intake is of concern.

Usually a couple of times a month I will get a sugarfree iced coffee. I usually get sf vanilla or hazlenut added...It's not quite a frapp, but it's really good. I have only had a frapp once since being banded and I really didn't need it then.

Hi everyone! I am to be banded on Sept 5th and before i started my pre-op diet i had a grande non-fat chai latte. I thought that might be one of my last. Does anyone know how fattening that is? I just love them!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
