I'm not sure if I'm doing this right... help needed

I'm sure you're fine. Check out bariatriceating.com they have a 48 hour reset for those who have truly stretched their sleeve. They also have tons of recipes and samples. I was frustrated cause 2 days home I hadn't lost much but when you first come home from the hospital you have a lot of Water weight from all the fluids. Don't weigh yourself again until your doctor visit. Keep up the great work!

Sounds like you're doing great. I don't drink any plain Water because it hurts but at my post op visit my surgeon said that was normal and no worries as long as I'm drinking something (decaf tea, crystal light, any zero calorie non-carbonated drink really). I had my surgery 12/17 I was 302 day of surgery I'm now 278 as of yesterday. I drink a lot of broth and live off of Popsicles as drinking is still a bit difficult. I can scramble an egg and eat about 3 bites. You shouldn't eat more than 1-2 oz. even if you can tolerate it because you will stretch your sleeve. Sleeves take 8-12 weeks to heal that's why the diet is so important. Keep up the great work and no worries! Love the name by the way!

UGH! I hope I haven't stretched my sleeve....I wonder if there is a way to tell? If so, do you know if it will go back if I get strict with my diet? I'm seeing my doc on Tuesday so I will definitely ask those questions! I've only lost 12 lbs in 14 days post op and it bums me out when I hear people have lost more! But don't get me wrong, I'm SUPER excited for your loss so far!
You absolutely have not stretched your sleeve. Your incision isn't even healed yet and it would split wide open before it would stretch. And it will NEVER stretch with fluids or even purées. It would takes weeks, if not months of consistently overeating solids to even begin to stretch your sleeve.

And as for weightless your expectations are way too high. I was thrilled when I had lost 17 pounds at 6 weeks out. Not to mention you have a very low BMI so are not going to have the kind of total pounds lost that most people that post on here see.

Thank you sooo much for your reply! Maybe my expectations are too high, and I appreciate your reassurance about stretching it out!

You've helped make the end of my day a positive one! I appreciate your information!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
