No longer in "Mommy Jeans"

Recommended Posts

My daughter (16) has been ragging on my jeans. "Oh dad they look like mommy jeans, Get something that fits." So for the first time since the Reagan administration I ordered 36" regular fit jeans. She really liked them. ;-)

The one pair of jeans I have that fit me are a size I haven't fit into for a decade. It's a great feeling, isn't it? :D Though I'm trying to picture "mommy jeans" and it's pretty amusing, lol

CONGRATS!!! It's an amazing feeling to see those waist numbers shrink! The other day I looked in the mirror and for the first time in years my chest was actually bigger than my gut!

Pirate, way to go. I threw all of my well worn 54 and 56 waist jeans away several months ago, but found a pair in one of my drawers, can't believe the difference. However, now in 42/44, find that my rear end disappeared somehow and that I need suspenders! Merry Christmas, Pirate! You are an inspiration!

Someone mentioned their backsides have shrunk and thus their pants got longer. So I went with a shorter inseam by an inch...and that worked. I was wondering why the back of my old jeans were fraid like they were stepped on...now I know why.

Ha - congrats!

I am allergic to mommy jeans or anything that makes me feel frumpy.

In my former obese life, I only wore jeans that fit. It didn't matter what type. Now, with two thirds of my excess weight gone, the jeans that fit are actually called skinny jeans. That cracks me up every single time I put them on. As long as I wear tunic style tops, I can get away with it. My legs have always been my thinnest part.

Glad you are not a guy. I think most of the "skinny jeans" for guys make them look like dweebs, but I'm not an urban hipster...but I could be their dad I guess ;-)

Love the cut of skinny jeans. Somehow making the calf part smaller lengthens the look of my legs. Gotta go with it. And a wedge heel

Gotta stay with it even if trending is wide leg palazzo pants.

I think I'm done trending

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
