Is my fill too tight??? I can't sleep at night!

Recommended Posts

I went in May to get a fill and I ended up getting an un-fill because the doctor said that my esophagus was irritated and the I was really tight, I didn’t feel like I was tight but that weekend I went to Vegas and drank, drank and drank which I think caused the inflammation, I was at 2.2 and they left me at 1.5 the doctor told me to go back in 6 weeks so I decided to go back 11 weeks later instead that way I give my self a chance to get better, last Thursday (7/11) I went to get a fill and the doctor told me once again that my esophagus was irritated and he didn’t want to give me a fill, finally after I talked to him and explained how I can eat anything with no problem he told me he would give me a very small fill and that I would have to follow his rules so he did give me a very small fill (from 1.5 to 1.8) and told me to take Prilosec 2 times a day for 7 days and to stay on liquids for 3 days, well I stayed on liquid for 4 days and have been very cautious about what I try to eat, yesterday (Monday) was the first day that I tried to eat and I could get very little down, know that’s not a problem because I started my period yesterday and I always tend to be tighter on that time of the month I figure I can stay on soft foods and liquids for a few more days, my problem since Saturday has been that when I lay down to go to bed I wake up chocking on what seems to be Water or something like that and it even comes out of my nose, I don’t eat at least three hours before bed and I have been doing mainly liquids but I am not sure what it can be. I even started taking the liquid Olive Era to help with the healing. Has anyone else experienced this before??? May I be too tight?? Would this .3 fill make that much difference???? I need help!

sounds like you need to contact dr. RIGHT AWAY! waking up choking with liquid coming out of your nose could lead to serious emergency. call dr. TODAY--and go in.

do you have gastric reflux? (that's what prilosec is for). were you evaluated for a hiatal hernia?

call the dr and go see him!!

please let us know what happened!

best wishes,

girlinnyc

The reason why it comes out of my nose is because I am asleep and when I start coughting instead of coming out of my mouth it just comes out through my nose and the Prilosec is to treat the irriated esophagus. I had never had anything like this happen before and I have never had gastric reflex.

Yes, You need the fill reduced or taken out, I had a fill put in and when I went to sleep, made a mistake in drinking a little Water 1hr before bedtime, I felt it girgling for hours, felt like water in my throat, my nurse said don't drink anything, but when I lay down it happend all the time, I had 1/2 cc removed, made all the difference, do not live with the pain or irritation, you will know when you are ready, don't be in discomfort, just take it a little along, I find that it takes time to slowly lose weight, its better for you that way, so don't get to much to quick

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
