Do I need to pull out the butt hurt papers?! Don't make me pull out THE papers! Some of you will spend all night filling it out. ;)

If the AFC & NFC conference playoff games are boring this weekend, I'll pop some fat-free popcorn and read these columns instead. :)

BTW, I wouldn't think any less of anyone using a gofundme acct.. like others said, its up to the giver if they want to give. I've donated to some.. recently a friend whose dog needed emergency surgery.. I've been there.

Look people, this is the internet, It will never be confused with the Hague. It will never be a bastion of lovey dovey touchy feely crap. This is realism at its finest. If you are afraid of responses , tough. If you dont like someone, ignore them, Its a simple concept. We support each others weight loss here. Just because we dont support each other financially or have differing opinions has no bearing on whether or not we want someone to succeed. On the contrary, we want to help people succeed and in turn be helped to succeed ourselves.

If you have a problem with something someone said, take a step back and look into the mirror, chances are it is you who have the problem, not them. Unless you are being attacked as a person, in which case, fine. report them and be done with it.

God knows ive had my run-ins and arguments, and yes some people just know how to push my buttons, but those are MY buttons. So just get over yourself, this isn't Dr Phil and we aren't going to kiss each other and pick out matching china patterns any time soon. If you need help with your WLS, and you ask for it, you'll get it. If you ask for advice you will get it, whether you like the advice you get, is all on you.

@@Stevehud I'm in your camp! I have forged some good friendships here, and I have gotten lots of help when I was a newbie. Luckily I was a mature newbie and I didn't let anyone on the internet,(that I will likely never meet in real life) bother me. Opinions are just opinions. take them or leave them. But folks need to be careful with the name calling or insinuating that they have no compassion. They have lots of compassion!! It used to be called tough love. Of course, the "entitled" don't get that.

We became a P.C. society. There are many positive aspects of that, but sometimes, good old fashion "tough love" is needed instead (a hug afterwards is a nice follow-up).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
