Monday is my final weigh in with my surgeon. I had to lose 40 lbs before he would schedule it. I went to weigh in once in the meantime. I weighed at home and drove the hr to his office to weigh. His scale was 5 lbs higher :(. I am pretty sure I've lost the weight. According to my scales, as of today I've lost 44. Any tips or tricks on what to do Monday to keep my weight as low as possible when I go to him at 2:30? Do I eat? Not eat all day? Drink a lot of Water? Avoid drinks? Wear jeans? Advice is welcome!

If it were me, today & tomorrow I would do a liquid diet of my Protein Drinks only. Have you been weighing in at Dr's office fully clothed? If you are just a few pounds off tomorrow at weigh in ask to be weighed in an exam gown. Take everything off, jewelry, bra & underpants. Best of luck to you.

Cut out salt too, it makes you retain Water. Stay hydrated, but try not to drink for an hour or two before the appointment.

Thanks for the tips! I never thought about asking to take my clothes off. I'm pretty sure 90% of us here weigh that way lol. I will for sure not eat any solids tomorrow. I had my last meal at 2 today. I might tank up on Water tonight and stray from drinking much of anything tomorrow. I'm nervous! Thanks for the advice again! I'll come back with an update.

I lost 44lbs according to their scale and 49 according to mine. Either way I'm scheduled for surgery in February! Thanks for the tips! I ended up eating early Breakfast and had Water until noon then Nothing until my appointment at 2:30. Worked for me!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
