JCalli77 38 Posted December 19, 2015 Just had my sleeve yesterday. The only real pain I have is in my right shoulder I also had hernia repair too. I know it's common but any suggestions on how to get rid of it quickly? I'm using gas x strips. Would a heating pad help??? Thanks for any ideas!
con con 142 Posted December 19, 2015 Sadly nothing helped me. It lasted for over a week. Sorry you are experiencing it.
katladee 156 Posted December 19, 2015 I'm curious too. I bought the Gas X strips also, anticipating the shoulder pain, but would love to hear what others found that helped them. tappingmom 85 Posted December 19, 2015 A heating pad certainly won't hurt, it helped me a lot, along with the pain meds which helped me relax and sleep.< /p>
Sophie74656 1,572 Posted December 19, 2015 I've heard people say that walking and moving around helped
A New KK 104 Posted December 19, 2015 My husband would firmly rub my back and shoulders until I burped and it really helped. Kind of like patting a baby on the back to get them to burp.
_Kate_ 2,224 Posted December 19, 2015 I didn't have the pain in my shoulders but a lot of people have said that walking really helps. Congratulations on the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
juju_91 2 Posted December 19, 2015 I had my sleeve on the 15th, the gas pain is the worst part and it still continues to be but on a much smaller scale. Walking helps a lot though! Walk as much as you can.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted December 19, 2015 Walking and moving around as well as a heating pad seemed to help the most for me.
thenewandbestme 81 Posted December 20, 2015 I was told it was trapped gas and to walk as much as possible and it did the trick. Even if I had to be on the treadmill while I was drinking my Protein shake . Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
kdelrosso 124 Posted December 21, 2015 Walk walk walk. I honestly tried to burp as much as possible to get rid of all the gas but walking was the best thing to do
MrsKarenC2008 622 Posted December 21, 2015 Ohhhh the dreaded shoulder gas pain ... such a lovely thing to add on top of all the things your body has already gone through ! Yes, walking does help ... but that is about it ... It's just something you have go to through and it lasts about a week ... I tried the heating pad ... the gas x strips ... the rubbing of the back ( that just got annoying ) ... nothing would relieve it ... It was more painful than any other part of the surgery ...
